About

I'm an artist living in Seaford - a small seaside town in East Sussex.  I work from my studio at home, either making screenprints using hand drawn stencils, or else paintings, drawings and zines.  Everything I do is low tech - partly because that suits me best, but also because I have prolonged Long Covid, and need to keep things simple.

I studied illustration at Brighton University and then Anglia Ruskin in Cambridge, where for a time I was an associate lecturer.  I now concentrate on personal projects - making work that I find interesting and challenging.  It's usually about people, and influenced by the books and comics I read as a child in the 50s/60s, or else more current films or tv programmes.

I like to exhibit my work, especially in group shows, and have shown my work in the UK and overseas.  It's great to be part of a creative throng - always enlightening and inspirational.

In the last few years I have been part of a touring exhibition with the Thames Group of Artists - All kinds of Naughty - a tribute to Ian Dury.  And in in the summer of 2023, I made work about 17th century schoolboys for an exhibition at the Willoughby Memorial Gallery in Lincolnshore - 'Sense of place', curated by Soraya Smithson.  I like a project with a historial aspect, where I can indulge my love of research.

Currently I have a two screenprints in the Worthing Open 2024 exhibition, and was delighted to receive the Curator's Choice Award.

I hope you enjoy looking at my work.  Let me know if you have any questions.
